Hello Everyone!
Today I want to write about how products get the attention of the consumer. Especially when 3 weeks until Christmas are left, the advertisement agencies start to blow out their campaigns. I got really touched today by a Christmas Ad, that I haven't seen before like this. Paula sent me a video link of a commercial from John Lewis which is known for its very emotional advertisement.

Meanwhile I read a lot of books and articles about advertisement in general and how to sell your product in a right way. I have to admit that I recognized, agencies spend a lot of money for "good" or "terrific" commercials, but they are not very emotional. You can't even remember the main message of the commercial and that's what marketers wants to achieve.
Every time I finish a marketing deck for our clients, the first steps after that will be the presentation in front of my boss by explaining him how I have done it in this or that way. He always tells me that it is not emotional enough and why I don't see in the client's view (in this case, they were the brands).
I know that I always give 100% of me by creating the marketing deck, but it was still not enough. When I remember the first times my boss gave me feedback on my work I didn't really understand what he meant by "doing it more emotional", what does it mean exactly? Shall I put a picture of JB crying in his backstage suite? What is emotional for a brand? He explained to me that everyone likes to see or hear from themselves, it works like a mirror. If you always putting the logo on a right place, than the clients feel more identify with the celebrity.
This system also works with consumers. You have to mirror them in commercials. They have to feel like being a part of it and that they can relate to the commercial personally.

How did you guys start?
Hello Everyone!
This time I just wanted to ask you how you started BAPP Program and how you get motivated?
How do you structure your time during the month until your oral presentation?
I think it's going to be a very tough time while we are working and doing our daily routine. The best part of our Program is I think to combine it with your work and to improve your skills!
Let me know what you guys do, to have a private-work-balance-life in this time.
Best, KS

Choose a job you love ...
Hello Everyone, welcome to my new BAPP Blog for MDX!
This Blog should be a kind of 'new beginning' of my second start at BAPP, because a lot of has changed in my workplace.
The last year was really exciting and amazing for me: I have gained a new title as a Junior Art Director in an Entertainment Agency called Welldone. Including the new position, I have a lot of responsibility and work to do in our office. Before I get further to explain, how my daily routine looks like, I want to inform you a little bit more about our agency and what we are exactly doing.
We as Welldone are an Agency who works with musicians from Universal Music and brands in general. To be precise, we are the interface between artist and brand and our main purpose is to develop and create a concept by showing our clients how perfectly they match together. The biggest deal we set up this year was a sponsorship of the brand essence (a make-up line for young women) who supported Justin Bieber on his world tour.
This poster is what we did for essence to promote Justin Biebers world tour. I guess it was a very good experience to be a part of it, unfortunately I missed his concert in Frankfurt, GER because of sickness. But I met him once when we did a acoustic concert for him in THE SQUAIRE which is also the location of my workplace.
Now I want to explain my part of the whole story with Bieber, essence and other brands I work with. My part of the process at Welldone is to design/create a 'marketing deck' of the current artist we want to promote in purpose to present it to brands.
The first steps I take is to think about what the brand does. I do a lot of researching, comparing and at the same time I have to remember all the single design elements that the brand uses to optimize my 'presentation' (that's how we call the 'marketing deck') for the brand. This point is very important because it's the first thing that the company sees and when the style of the presentation fits with their CI (Coperate Identity) it is better for them to imagine how good it looks like working with Bieber for example.
The whole process between the beginning of research, until the final print of the presentation can take a whole week or two. It depends on what kind of brand we want to work with and how much I know about the artist's biography and therefor to present him/her in the proper light. It is a lot of work for me to do and costs me a lot of time, though every day at the office reminds me of what Confucius has said a long time ago: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
His quote definitely speaks to me.
